a pixel watercolor sketchbook i filled up
a few weeks ago i finished a special sketchbook on stream (ahem, like and subscribe) and have been adding photos of it to my portfolio (which i've been coding on stream hehe). the sketchbook is a letterpress grid watercolor pad from case for making and the paints were gansai tambi which i've really been enjoying.
the book came with 20 but i forget what i did with the first page lol. the 19 pages start with a couple of fried eggs i free-handed:
then i free-handed some purple flowers.
at this point i started looking for digital pixel art i've done before but never in watercolor. this is when i finally got into a flow state with painting for several days straight. you may recognize some of these if you've been following my work.
i hate this flamingo one because i picked bad background colors:
this recreation of a steiner mural in pixel art is probably my favorite of the group:
mods are asleep, time to post pinup gumby:
one night i did a pixel art sketch of a candle i wanted to make. i did make this candle and then i dropped it on the floor so i'm going to remake it:
i love vintage cake decoration! this is my first of what i think will be many more pixel art patterns from cakes:
i want to get a scanner so i can start saving these digitally and giving away these and other sketchbook pages. if you have a recommendation on good flat bed scanners for scanning art, let me know!
